Adventure pursuits near Conwy

North Wales has had a sustained surge in tourism over the last few years thanks to becoming the g0-to destination for adrenaline junkies and those in search of adventure.

Each year more and more attractions open, attracting visitors in their droves.

This month we'll run down some our favourite.

Adventure Parc/Surf Snowdonia

This is now firmly established as a top destination for the whole family - and it just so happens to be located a couple of miles down the road.

It opened as the worlds first in land surf lagoon, with consistent man-made waves perfectly crafted for surfing. Complete beginners and seasoned pros all can all have a blast and surf here.

Aside from the surfing, Surf Snowdonia has recently rebranded as Adventure Parc Snowdonia after opening new activities. These include the longest artificial caving courses in the world, climbing & racer walls, leaps of faith, and extreme slides. There is also soft indoor play area, bar, restaurant and shop.

Zip World

There are many strings to Zip World's bow, with lots of adrenaline fuelled attractions located throughout North Wales. These include:

Zip World, Penrhyn Quarry

Located near Mount Snowdon in Bethesda. This is home to the fastest zipline in the world. There is also a new addition this year in quarry karting - think go karts powered by gravity going down an old quarry trail. Plus quarry tours in a rumbling old quarry truck. The scenery and views on all of the attractions are simply sublime.

Zip World Fforest, Conwy Valley

In a spectacular forest setting near the equally beautiful Betws-Y-Coed is Zip World Fforest. This is fun for the entire family - alpine roller coaster and high ropes course filled with adrenaline activities.

Slate Caverns, Blaenau Ffestiniog

At the heart of this attraction is North Wales slate mining history. The Slate Caverns have fun both underground and overground with subterranean playgrounds and overground ziplines.

Rib Rides, Anglesey

Time to leave the Welsh countryside and head to the water. Rib Rides host a variety of tours around the Anglesey coastline - but also do tours from Conwy. They hold adrenaline fuelled speed tours or ones that take in landmarks and wildlife.
