Best beaches in Anglesey
St. David's Park - June 28th 2019
Anglesey is incredible for beaches. There are 27 sandy beaches in total and then there's also the pebbled beaches and coves which can be just as fun when you're looking for a family day out in the sun.
Of these beaches, 6 have the highly coveted Blue Flag status which is awarded as an indication for high environmental and quality standards, such as cleanliness (the beach our park enjoys private access to has been awarded Blue Flag status for a number of years).
We may of course be just a little bit biased in this blog post but here is our pick of Anglesey's best beaches.
Rhosneigr
Located on the other side of the island but sill only taking half an hour in the car is the popular Rhosneigr beach. We'd recommend packing up the car and kids early because it can get busy, particularly with watersport enthusiasts like kitesurfers, windsurfers, and surfers which the area is famous for. But rather than take this popularity as a negative we think it adds to the cool vibe of the beach and means it's brilliant for setting up camp and watching the adrenaline junkies. As alluded to above, there is a cool surfer and beach-bum feel to the area. There is also plenty of spots to eat and drink around the town.
Benllech Beach
Our next door neighbour! When the tide is out there isn't much that sets St. David's beach and Benllech apart, but whether the tide is in or out, it is a beautiful stretch of sandy beach with lovely scenery. Also to Benllech beach's benefit is the its convenient location to Benllech town centre where there are ice cream and convenience stores plus places to eat and drink.
St. David's Beach
Ok, no surprises here then. But we love the beach at the end of our park! When the sun is shining and particularly when the tide is high and there's an extra sense of seclusion, we don't think there is any spot better than St. David's beach. New for this Summer if the coffee pod run by The Tavern selling ice cream and hot or cold drinks which has already gone down a hit with holiday home owners and visitors.
