Bonfire Night and Firework Displays Around Conwy

Bonfire Night and Firework Displays Around Conwy

Berthlwyd Hall Holiday Park - November 2nd 2016

Remember remember the 5th of November!

It's that time of the year again where we dig out the woolly hats, scarves and gloves for the first time since last Winter, subdue our whimpering pet dogs and spell out the letters of our name in the air with sparklers... Bonfire night!

How it has come around so quick we do not know!

Things are slightly different this year as the areas hugely popular fireworks display on Llandudno pier and the prom is not going ahead. This is due to the pier being under new ownership and with the new owners investing so much money into the pier over the last year the cost to insure the largely wooden Victorian pier has sky rocketed and made it too expensive. Hopefully they'll sort something out for next year though, it used to take place on Llandudno's West Shore up until a few years ago - maybe it will return there. Nevertheless, there is still plenty of places celebrating bonfire night with what is sure to be a spectacular fireworks display.

Colwyn Bay: In place of the Llandudno fireworks display, Colwyn Bay will probably be the most popular and biggest in the area this year. The annual Bonfire and Fireworks Event in Eirias Park is on Friday 4th November from 7pm. The bonfire will be lit at around 7.15pm with the fireworks display following slighlty later at 7.30pm. Entry is free but there will be a cash collection on the night with 50 per cent going towards the Firefighters’ Charity. Free parking is available at the Civic Centre and North Wales Police Headquarters (Abergele Road) and Disabled Parking will be provided at Eirias High School. If you have any queries about this year’s event, contact the Town Hall on 01492 532248 or at [email protected]

Glan Conwy: Located just over the river this is the closest event to our park as the crow flies (Either this or the event in Llandudno Junction). The firework display is at Cae Ffwt football field on Friday, November 4th, 6.30pm. There will be a BBQ and magician. Adult £2, child £1. For more information ring 01492 330474.

Llandudno Junction: Again, very close to Berthlwyd. Funfair and fireworks display at Llandudno Junction Labour Club, Thursday, November 3. Funfair from 4pm. Refreshments. Free children's entertainment. fireworks at 8pm.

Llanrwst: Located just down the valley there will be a firework display on Saturday at Glasdir car park on November 12 at 7pm. Fun fair and refreshments. The event will feature not only a stunning display of fireworks but also illuminated trees alongside the river bank. Hot dogs, burgers and drinks will be available. Arrive early. Free admission. Charity donations welcome. For more information ring Ian Williams at Conwy Valley Rotary Club on 01492 680304 or e-mail [email protected]

Penmaenmawr: Down the coast Penmaenmawr Sailing Club are holding their annual Bonfire and Fireworks display on Saturday, November 5 on the beach and promenade outside the Club House. There will be hot food and drinks available from 6pm. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks display, sponsored by Penmaenmawr Town Council, is at 7pm.

Tal-y-bont: Firework Display to be held at the May Hughes Memorial Playing Fields on Saturday November 5, at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be available from the Memorial Hall from 6.30pm onwards. Voluntary donations please.
