How to be more environmentally friendly at St. David's Park
St. David's Park - February 28th 2020
Here's some friendly tips on how to make your stay at St. David's Park more environmentally friendly...
Reuse and recycle!
A really easy way of doing this is to organise rubbish before it's ready to be thrown out and then use the correct bin. We're pleased to say that our park's owners and guests are pretty good at disposing of their waste correctly but there's always room for improvement!
Also, why not try to repair things rather than buying a replacement. The fact is many possessions in holiday homes can break easily or suffer from wear and tear because they're not always used consistently. Youtube is a great resource for learning how to mend things!
Carbon Offsetting
Carbon offsetting is all the rage now. It's when you counter the negative carbon impact your air travel has on the environment buy paying to plant trees.
Of course, you could decrease the amount of air travel you undertake. It'll come as no surprise that we're huge advocates for staycations - and if you're an owner or guest of St. David's you're already doing your bit!
Travelling by rail is also becoming increasingly popular if you want to travel into the continent and beyond.
Use Public Transport
The more you use public transport, the lower your emissions will be. We'll admit, it's not always easy to rely on public transport in Anglesey as many of you city slickers will be used to much regular service. There is, however, a bus stop at the top of the lane by the Spinning Wheel Antiques shop. From there you can go towards Beaumaris and Menai Bridge. We have bus timetables at reception.
Also, you're in beautiful North Wales! why not walk or cycle whenever you can.
Go Veggie
Okay, this is a biggie in terms of lifestyle but cutting down on your meat consumption can have a big impact.
Plus, with The Taverns larger and tastier veggie and vegan options over the last year its never been easier!
