Thank you to all involved who helped raise money for the Welsh Air Ambulance
St. David's Park - March 25th 2015
St David’s Park and The Tavern at Red Wharf Bay Anglesey are very pleased to donate to Ambiwlans Awyr Cymru, The Welsh Air Ambulance service a cheque for £1,352.00 This was raised the back end of last year from various activities between the park and The Tavern.
The Wales Air Ambulance is very busy in the summer. Unfortunately accidents do happen and The Welsh Air Ambulance mission is to aid the relief of sickness and injury, and the protection of human life. They provide a 24-hour air ambulance operation, and continually strive for an outstanding air ambulance service available to everyone in Wales. They need to raise 6 million pound a year to keep the service flying, so the funds raised here at the St David’s Holiday Park should go a long way to retain the service they provide to all in North Wales.
The charity’s three helicopters one in North (Caernarfon), Mid (Welshpool) and South (Swansea) of Wales are confronted with a diverse and challenging landscape. Over 8,000 sq miles of remote countryside, bustling towns and cities, vast mountain ranges, and 800 miles of coastline.
Wales Air Ambulance is funded by the people of Wales; they rely entirely on the public’s support to help keep the helicopters flying. The Wales Air Ambulance responds to roughly 2000 missions every year. Around 400 of these are paediatric missions (children under 16 years). The charity does not receive direct funding from the government they also do not qualify for National Lottery funding. The money is therefore raised through charitable donations, fundraising events and membership from their in-house Lifesaving Lottery.
St David’s Park would like to thank all residents and locals that were involved in helping us raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.
