Here's a pick of just some of the events and activities happening throughout June around Coed Helen and Caernarfon. There's something for entire families and adults alike.
Father’s Day High Tea, Penryhn Castle - Sunday 16th June
Just a short drive from the park is the beautiful Penrhyn Castle and its picturesque grounds. They will provide the perfect setting for a family day out – particularly for father’s day. They are hosting a special day where a special menu of homemade sandwiches, cakes and loose leaf tea will be put on for the occasion.
Pullman Afternoon Tea, Welsh Highland Railway St Helen’s Road – throughout June
Another day for those looking to add a touch of class with a loved, through afternoon and cakes, this time on a historic steam train. The journey takes in the magnificent scenery of Snowdonia National Park
Sporty Sunday, Plas Newydd House & Gardens – Wednesday 12th June
This would be a brilliant day for the entire family, particularly for energetic kids (and dogs on leads!). The iconic Plas Newydd country home is located just across the Menai Strait so is easy to get to from Coed Helen. There will be sporty games and activities, including archery. Archery (£1 for 6 arrows). No booking necessary.
Guided Tour, Criccieth Castle - Wednesday 12th June
Criccieth Castle was one of many famous forts built on the orders of Prince Llewelyn during turbulent medieval times. Find out about this castles stories and previous inhabitants and explore the picturesque surroundings, beach and cafes.
Music and Tales from Ancient Wales, Criccieth Castle - Sat 29 Jun 19 and Sun 30 Jun
Another one from Criccieth Castle and a great way to learn about the heritage and history of Coed Helen’s surrounding area, in a beautiful and historic setting.
Red Squirrel walks and talks, Plas Newydd House and Gardens – throughout June.
Red squirrels are back! Plas Newydd have a team of volunteer Red Squirrel Rangers and they lead walks to try and find the ‘Plas Newydd reds’. Another great way to get the kids out and about and excited about nature!
