Where To See the Changing Of The Seasons in Conwy

Where To See the Changing Of The Seasons in Conwy

Berthlwyd Hall Holiday Park - October 13th 2017

Every year North Wales is lauded as one of the best places in Britain to witness the changing of the seasons and the riot of vibrant autumnal colours that are put on display. With rolling quintessential Welsh valleys and picturesque riversides, “leaf-peepers” as they have become known, are spoilt for choice in Conwy. Here are some of our best suggestions:

Ty Hwnt I’r Bont – Llanwrst

Located on the banks of the River Conwy in Llanwrst is the picturesque cottage Ty Hwnt I’r Bont, an old cottage built in 1480 who's name translates to “Beyond the Bridge”. The cottage is now open to the public as a traditional Welsh tearoom and the homemade scones have become famous with the recipe being a closely guarded family secret! The National Trust now owns the building and you can guarantee that around this time of year, pictures of the old cottage get shared all across social media and shown in newspapers and magazines due to the stunning display put on by the changing of the seasons.

Bodnant Gardens

Located just 10 minutes away by car, Bodnant Gardens in Eglwysbach its conveniently located to travel to from Berthlwyd. As part of the Bodnant Estate, the popular visitor gardens are owned and run by the National Trust and was voted the winner of "The National Trust Gardens Award" by National Trust members and visitors, and separately it was voted "The Favourite Garden in the Country" by Daily Telegraph readers so it’s held in very high-esteem and as you can imagine well worth a trip all year-round. There are also tearooms, a restaurant, a garden centre and farm shop selling high-quality produce from the area. There is a wide variety of garden styles which are kept immaculate and there are commanding views of the Conwy Valley.

Betws Y Coed

Betws-Y-Coed is popular among walkers and tourists all year-round thanks its idyllic picture-perfect scenery with a magnificent river that rages right through the centre of the village. Leaf-peepers will get a good show from the village centre amongst the shops and cafes by simply looking up and around at the valley but we suggest crossing the bridge over the waterfall and walking along the river upstream through the woodland which eventually opens up onto fields along the river with stunning views of the valleys.

Conwy Mountain/Berthlwyd Park

Luckily, you needn’t go far to see the striking arrival of Autumn if you’re on park. We’re sure our holiday home owners onsite are already well-acquainted with Conwy Mountain with many of being dog owners and keen walkers. Turning right out of the park’s main entrance will take you up to Sychnant Pass where there are a great many walking routes to take and where the scenery is spellbinding with both coastal and country vistas.

Berthlwyd Hall Holiday Park is a Five Star park is located in Conwy in Snowdonia National Park and benefits from being just a stone’s throw away from the Conwy’s historic town centre. It is nestled amongst beautiful countryside scenery with beautiful views extending down Conwy Valley. We have a wide selection of holiday homes available to view on park – both new and pre-owned - from modern static caravans to luxury lodges. We only use the industry leading manufacturers to guarantee quality, style and value. Please do not hesitate to get in touch for more information or to book a viewing.
