Why choose glamping?
Coed Helen Holiday Park - January 31st 2019
Like ‘banoffee’, ‘staycation’, or ‘labradoodle’, the term glamping comes from squashing two words together – ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping’. But don’t let previous experiences of damp sleeping bags and muddy pillows haunt you because glamping is a world away from soggy tents.
Glamping pods can vary from basic wooden structures to tepees to more opulent spaces fitted with the latest mod-cons and home comforts, capable of comfortably sleeping families. The latter being what we at Coed Helen are launching for the 2019 season (more on that later!)
Why choose glamping?
First and foremost it is fun! The best glamping pods are innovative and have features that make clever use of space. This gives glamping a ‘wow-factor’ especially for children.
It has all the fun of camping but with more of the conveniences of tradition bricks and mortar dwellings. Camping is great – totally immersing yourself in the outdoors, the fresh air, daily stresses are quickly forgotten. These experiences are all as true for glamping as they are with traditional camping. It does mean, however, that when it rains (which, let’s face it – it will) you have a solid free-standing structure with comforts such as a proper bed, heating and electricity.
The worst bit of camping? It has got to be the stresses of setting up after a long trip of bad jammed motorways. Then, there’s the looming ordeal of packing everything up. Not so with glamping. Arrive, drop your bags and boom! You’re ready to enjoy your stress-free break. And when it’s all done, pick up the bags and drive away. It’s that easy!
Glamping at Coed Helen
Launching for the 2019 season is our glamping offering. We have ordered the highest-spec glamping pods available on the market which blend practicality with style and innovation to accommodate six people. They make clever use of space and with a fireplace, raised maisonette bed level and decking they certainly have the wow-factor.
